Prayer in action
What a difference God's people make when they are praying before, during and after events in our region.
Sue Sinclair, of the Prayer Cabinet, said: "We sensed the need to cover our whole region in prayer over the last bank holiday weekend in May. Many thousands were visiting the region for a huge music festival and for the Liverpool FC Victory parade with an estimated 1.5 million people attending.
"All was going so well until the collision in Water Street, when it is reported that 79 men, women and children were injured. Fatalities and serious injuries were expected, but c
learly our excellent emergency services immediately kicked into action – as did the Prayer Cabinet.
"We immediately mobilised prayer across the network and churches. By 8.30pm we had 70+ people from across the region and nation online praying via zoom. God answers prayer!! Now, three days later, we know that there are only a small number still in hospital and all should recover fully. Also the potential for trouble was stopped before it started.
"Thank you to everyone who connected in prayer and we encourage you to continue to see the shock and the trauma broken off our city and all those impacted."
The Quiet Revival
You have probably heard about the recent Bible Society survey report called 'The Quiet Revival'.
The results of the survey are quite remarkable, and it's worth reading at least the key findings at the start of the document.
So much to be encouraged about. Could this be the time when the tide finally turns, when the prayers of the last decades are starting to show a reversal in the secularisation of our culture, and the and end to decline in church involvement? I think it could.
Be encouraged. Literally - take courage and press in to all that God is doing in our day.

Upcoming event: Bishop Rose Hudson-Wilkin
Rose Hudson-Wilkin, Bishop of Dover and the Bishop in Canterbury, is visiting Liverpool to share the story of her life and her calling, as told in her autobiography The Girl From Montego Bay: The Autobiography of Britain's First Black Woman Bishop.
The event is being held on the Thursday July 10th from 7pm to 9pm at The Florrie, 377 Mill Street, Liverpool, L8 4RF.
Further details about the event and how to sign up can be found here.
Four points update
We've had some more great feedback from the effects of the 4POINTS Easter Campaign.
One of the leaders at Hope Community Church Aintree said: "It is a brilliant tool and will continue to be used.
"Personally I find most people are receptive and leave having heard the Gospel and with a summary prayer card in their pockets.
"We have stories from supermarket checkouts, the dentist's chair and barbers shops etc of the 4POINTS being used."
Has THE4POINTS made a difference in your life? Or have you seen it affect someone else? We'd love to hear your story.

Jesus in the Park

Not even a pastor having a heart attack mid-preach could stop God moving at the 'Jesus in the Park' event at Newsham Park recently.
Jane Tompkins of organisers The Jesus Outpouring Movement said: "What a joyous, spirit-filled week it was!
"There were at least 35 salvations during the week, and many more seeds sown. We had a committed team of evangelists going out in the afternoon, in addition to the programme for the evening mission and we believe that fruit from the week will continue to grow, as those saved or impacted share their experiences with friends and family."
And after having a heart attack 10 minutes into his preach, Pastor Keith Kelly is now recovering and evangelising in hospital.
Jane added: "Shortly after Keith collapsed, he stopped breathing and had no pulse, yet, in addition to more prayer warriors than we could count, God provided no less than six nurses and one doctor to physically minister to him immediately.
"Three of the nurses work in the Critical Care Unit at the Royal and had not even heard of Jesus in the Park until that morning, when a friend mentioned it, so they decided to stop by on their way to work! What a blessing they and the whole medical contingent were.
"Praise God for our wonderful doctors and nurses! Keith phoned me two days later to say he was making progress and we have since heard from his wife that he has been sharing the gospel and ministering to staff in the hospital! Amen!"
